Russian diplomats have vehemently denied allegations from the White House claiming that Russian soldiers were being executed for refusing battlefield orders in Ukraine

Russian diplomats claimed that these accusations were simply an effort to provide a rationale for the prominent Ukrainian counterattack.

John Kirby stated that the U.S. government had evidence suggesting that Russian military members were at risk of execution for insubordination. Kirby also alleged that Russian leaders were warning of severe consequences for entire units if they tried to withdraw from Ukrainian artillery fire.

No supporting evidence was provided to substantiate these claims

Ukraine’s recent pushback, though effective in recapturing villages in the southern and eastern regions, has shown a slower momentum in comparison to last year’s swift progress into the occupied northeastern areas. Volodymyr Zelenskiy revealed a notable rise in Russian casualties in the past week, particularly in the failed attempt to advance on the eastern town of Avdiivka, which resulted in the loss of an entire brigade of troops. Russian diplomats persist in rejecting the claims made by the White House.
