Vladislav Surkov, often referred to as the Kremlin’s “puppet master,” played a pivotal role in shaping Putin’s tightly controlled political system before leaving the Kremlin in 2020

Published on September 27 under the title “Birth of the North,” Vladislav Surkov’s article posits a potential future alignment between Russia, the United States, and Europe following the Ukraine conflict.

In his piece, Vladislav Surkov envisions a “Great North,” envisioning Russia, the USA, and Europe coming together within a shared socio-cultural sphere, countering the prevailing Kremlin narrative of a declining and hostile West. While state news agencies TASS and RIA reported the police investigation following a complaint, Vladislav Surkov has not yet commented on the matter.

The article challenges the Kremlin’s current pivot towards China, emphasizing Russia’s deep cultural and historical ties to Europe despite the ongoing Ukraine standoff

Vladislav Surkov predicts global upheaval for major civilizations in the years ahead, suggesting that a Russo-Western alignment, though unconventional, is not unprecedented, drawing parallels to a united Russia in the 13th century. Political scientist Sergei Markov, closely associated with the Kremlin, cautioned against antagonizing Vladislav Surkov, emphasizing his exceptional talent and experience, and advocated for his continued involvement in politics.

Vladislav Surkov’s extensive tenure includes serving as the first deputy chief of the Kremlin administration from 1999 to 2011, followed by roles in the government and later as a presidential adviser within the Kremlin.
