Robert Chambers is released from prison after being imprisoned for unrelated drug offenses

Robert Chambers is known as the “Preppy Killer” after killing a teenager in Central Park in 1986. Robert Chambers was released this week from a correctional facility after serving time for unrelated drug offenses.

The 19-year-old Robert Chambers back then strangled Jennifer Levin to death. The case of Robert Chambers became a tabloid sensation. Robert Chambers pleaded guilty to the killing after he confessed in a tape that he killed Levin during rough sex.

Robert Chambers served 15 years imprisonment for first-degree manslaughter. Robert Chambers was also imprisoned for second-degree burglary in 1988 and was released in 2003.

Department of Corrections said Robert Chambers will be under post-release imprisonment supervision until July 2028

Robert Chambers was imprisoned again in 2008 on unrelated charges, a first-degree of selling a controlled substance.

Robert Chambers also served a sentence after being guilty of second-degree assault. After Robert Chambers served 15 years at New York Correctional Facility, Robert Chambers was released on parole last Tuesday. Robert Chambers had a maximum sentence of 19 years.
