Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Yuma, Arizona, laid wreaths for military veterans on National Wreaths Across America Day. In the spirit of “Remember, Honor, Teach,” the event honors those who died in service to the nation. The ceremony honors, pays tribute, and shares the lessons of these great military personnel.
Community Tribute on National Wreaths Across America
Yuma Deputy Mayor Chris Morse stressed the importance of the day, encouraging everyone to remember family and friends who have served and recognize their sacrifice. Morse said that while remembering these people every day is important, National Wreaths Across America Day allows the community to join together in commemoration.
Eight wreaths were set for the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, and the 92,129 POW/MIA soldiers who have yet to return home.
This emblem shows the many duties and accomplishments of military soldiers throughout services and honors those who have not come home. The ceremony was meant to honor these people’s contributions to the nation.
