Yolanda Saldvar, who was convicted of killing Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in 1995 and is currently receiving a life sentence, hopes to be discharged from jail in March 2025. According to the officials, nothing prevents her from applying for parole.
No flaws on Saldvar’s record, according to a representative of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, prevent the board from having a hearing to decide when to release her.
A former prisoner at the Texas women’s jail in Gatesville informed The Messenger that Saldvar, 62, is the “most disliked person” at Mountain View Unit.
Another person added, “Everyone demanded justice for Selena.
Saldvar has an eye on her back, but she hasn’t engaged in any misconduct in the last ten years, and she’s conscious of how that may affect her potential for parole, a close family member informs The Messenger.
