A 40-year-old Wisconsin man arrested named Joseph Cattani was accused of assaulting a police officer and entering a restricted building during a riot, wherein the Wisconsin man arrested joined thousands of other rioters to attack the Capitol.
According to a report published in Fox News, the Wisconsin man arrested assaulted a police officer by grabbing his face shield and pulling his head around before joining other rioters in illegally entering the Capitol building while the Wisconsin man arrested continued attacking police officers on his way inside.
Aside from the Wisconsin man arrested, thousands of rioters also attacked the Capitol to express how they favored former president Donald Trump over Joe Biden during the presidential election and accused the latter of fraud; fortunately, most of the rioters were arrested, including the Wisconsin man arrested, who was caught after participating the riot.
Wisconsin Man Arrested Faces Multiple Charges After Assaulting Police Officer and Joining Capitol Riot
Following the riot, the Wisconsin man arrested faced multiple charges, including misdemeanor counts, for assaulting a police officer and participating in the riot as they forced their entry into the restricted building.
Aside from the Wisconsin man arrested, more than 1,000 rioters were reportedly caught and faced multiple charges after entering the building without permission and attacking police officers during the riot, which led to several injuries sustained, CBS News reported.
