Define El Nino

One of the 3 phases of the ENSO, or El Nino Southern Oscillation, is represented by this phenomenon. It monitors modifications to the Pacific Ocean’s water temperature. When water temperatures are higher than usual for a longer period, this phenomenon takes place. It may have repercussions for worldwide weather patterns.

In the Southern regions of the United States, this period often results in cooler and rainier seasons, whereas the Midwest and Northern regions of the country typically have drier and warmer seasons.
