Volkswagen Plant Incident in Tennessee Leaves One Dead and Two Injured

An incident at Volkswagen’s plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, resulted in the death of one employee and injuries to two others on Saturday, according to local police.

The incident involved a vehicle that struck the employees at the plant

Chattanooga Police Department Assistant Chief Jerri Sutton confirmed that one employee died on the scene while the other two suffered leg trauma and non-life-threatening injuries. The employees’ identities have not been disclosed, and the police are investigating the incident.

Volkswagen released a statement expressing condolences for the “tragic road incident” and stated that they are working closely with local law enforcement to investigate the incident.

The company also said that production at the plant had been canceled for Saturday

Volkswagen Group of America spokesperson Cameron Batten said, “Our heartfelt condolences are with the impacted employees, their families, and everyone impacted by this tragedy.” Batten also added that any additional questions regarding the incident should be directed to local law enforcement.

The cause of the incident is still unknown, and the police have not yet released any details about the vehicle involved. The incident has brought sorrow to the Volkswagen plant, and the company is currently cooperating with the investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
