Virginia Mom of 6-Year-Old Boy Who Took Her Gun and Intentionally Shot His Teacher Arrested for Multiple Charges

A Virginia mom named Deja Taylor was arrested for multiple charges after her 6-year-old son took her gun and intentionally shot his teacher, wherein authorities investigated how the Virginia mom purchased and possessed the weapon.

According to a report published in ABC News, the son of the Virginia mom got her handgun and took it to his school, later shooting his first-grade teacher, Abby Zwerner, starting an investigation where authorities discovered that the Virginia mom had been using illegal drugs while possessing a gun.

Following the incident, the teacher of the Virginia mom’s son filed a lawsuit against the school district after undergoing four surgeries for the gunshot wounds she sustained from the shooting incident and claimed that it was the school’s negligence that resulted in the Virginia mom’s son getting in the school premises with a gun.

Virginia Mom Sentenced to 21 Months in Prison for Multiple Charges Following Son’s Involvement in Shooting Incident

With the evidence gathered, the Virginia mom of the 6-year-old boy who shot his teacher inside their school faced several charges, including child negligence and possession of a firearm while using illegal drugs.

After pleading guilty to charges filed against her, the Virginia mom was sentenced to 21 months in prison following her son’s involvement in the shooting incident due to her negligence, CBS News reported.
