Virginia Man Arrested for Joining Riot at Capitol and Admitting to Having Fun Assaulting Police

A 49-year-old Virginia man named Markus Maly was arrested after joining a riot at the Capitol and admitting to having fun assaulting the police as he pushed against them to enter the building.

The Virginia man initially insisted that he did not attack the police; however, authorities discovered that he joined the riot and sprayed chemicals at the police guarding the entrance of the building, which led to injuring more than 100 police who were all trying to stop them from entering.

According to an AP News report, the Virginia man also sent text messages to his wife describing how he had fun during the riot and bragged about what they had done without thinking that the consequences of their actions.

Virginia Man Faces Multiple Charges After Attacking and Injuring Several Police in Capitol Riot

Following the Capitol riot, the Virginia man attempted to solicit donations for legal defense expenses and reportedly raised over $16,500.

The Virginia man and other rioters face multiple charges, including federal crimes, after injuring several police during the riot.
