A Virginia man was arrested after fatally shooting a state police officer who was responding to a shooting incident report.
Virginia Man Fatally Shoots Responding Officer After Initially Shooting 39-Year-Old Man
A 29-year-old Virginia man named Timothy Kennedy fatally shot a state police officer after initially shooting a 39-year-old man identified as Benjamin Adam Baldwin with a rifle.
According to reports from AP News, three authorities, including state police officer Cory Maynard, responded to a shooting incident report in Baldwin’s home, but the Virginia man fired at them, shooting Maynard, who eventually died at the hospital.
The initial victim was reportedly in stable condition; meanwhile, his neighbors and other nearby residents were told to stay home until the Virginia man was arrested.

Virginia Man Arrested Faces Charges After Killing State Police Officer
After hours of searching, the Virginia man was finally arrested at a checkpoint inside a stolen vehicle he also used to flee from the tragic shooting incident.
Until now, authorities are still investigating the possible reasons why the Virginia man shot Baldwin inside his home, leading to the death of the state police officer.
The Virginia man is currently held in prison without bond for fatally shooting the state police officer, whose death was mourned by his loved ones and fellow police officers.
