In a recent development regarding the much-anticipated Virgin Galactic mission, the space tourism company has announced a slight delay in its upcoming Galactic 04 mission, now scheduled for Friday, October 6th
Virgin Galactic shared this update via X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday, October 1st, expressing their excitement for the Virgin Galactic mission Galactic 04 Delayed by One Day for Preparations which is just a few days away. Galactic 04 holds significant promise as it will carry three paying customers aboard the VSS Unity spaceplane, taking them on an awe-inspiring adventure to the edge of space and back.
Among the passengers are British advertising executive Trevor Beattie, American astronomy educator Ron Rosano, and adventurer Namira Salim, who is set to make history as the first Pakistani to venture into the final frontier. The cabin of Unity will also host Beth Moses, Virgin Galactic’s chief astronaut instructor.
The Virgin Galactic mission will commence with Unity launching beneath the wings of its carrier plane, VMS Eve, from New Mexico’s Spaceport America
Both spacecraft will return to Spaceport America upon completing their journey, marking Virgin Galactic mission fourth successful commercial spaceflight endeavor in 2023. Looking ahead, Virgin Galactic plans to continue flying Unity approximately once a month, with a more rapid pace anticipated in 2026 with the introduction of the new “Delta class” of spaceplanes, designed to launch as frequently as once per week.
