In a surprising turn of events at Saturday’s USC football game against Cal, fifteen individuals, primarily students from California, were apprehended and escorted away in restraints, causing a significant delay in the game’s kickoff at Berkeley’s Memorial Stadium.

The protest that led to these arrests revolved around the suspension of a professor, according to an official statement issued by the Cal police department. A considerable number of the protesters donned T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan “Justice for Ivonne” and gathered defiantly in the center of the Cal logo.
The subject of their demonstration, Ivonne del Valle, is a professor specializing in Spanish and Portuguese studies who recently faced suspension by the university. The allegations against her involve purportedly stalking and harassing a faculty member from a different institution.

Eventually, the demonstrators were restrained and removed from the field. According to the police statement, an overwhelming majority of the protesters, 13 out of 15, were Cal students.
