Among all the residents in Chicago, up to 50% of Chicago crime victims reportedly consisted of Black women, who ended up living their lives in fear every day after becoming one of the Chicago crime victims, whether violent or property crimes.
According to a report published in CBS News, Chicago crime victims were targeted for crimes, including rape, assault and even human trafficking, which negatively affected physical, mental, and emotional health later on as the Chicago crime victims tried to get up, cope, and continue living their lives.
With the reports of the number of Chicago crime victims, some Black women revealed how they experienced crimes just by walking late at night or taking the train and bus, which continued even after the efforts of local officials to address the increasing numbers of Chicago crime victims.

Local Officials Take Actions to Reduce the Increasing Numbers of Chicago Crime Victims and Address Public Safety
Following the increasing numbers of Chicago crime victims regardless of their race, local officials took action to reduce the numbers and ensure public safety in various areas, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Chicago crime victims would also expect a new task force that would address and make changes in the community for them to feel safe rather than always feeling scared for their lives due to numerous crimes reported.
