Taking place on August 18th at approximately 7:40 a.m. within the vicinity of the 2800 block of South Church Street, law enforcement officers initiated the stop subsequent to observing a traffic violation committed by the vehicle in question.

Following the halt, law enforcement officials swiftly acquired reasonable grounds to thoroughly search the vehicle of the two people arrested. This search operation yielded the discovery of a substantial quantity of illicit substances, with 102 grams of crack cocaine and 132 grams of marijuana being seized from two people arrested, alongside a considerable sum of around $2,000 in cash.

Kelsey Bynum, a 40-year-old individual, who was in control of the vehicle, was apprehended due to suspected involvement in using a car for storing and distributing controlled substances. Additionally, Bynum was charged with having drug-related equipment in possession along with two other detained individuals.
Aristarchus Howard, aged 36, the passenger in the vehicle, faced accusations that encompassed possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute, having marijuana with the intention to distribute, and being in possession of drug paraphernalia, along with the two people arrested.
Bynum was subsequently released with a written promise to appear in court, while Howard was required to pay a secured bond of $200,000. These two people arrested represent a significant milestone in the endeavors of the Rocky Mount Police Department.
