The University of California, Davis student Karim Abou Najm was stabbed to death on Saturday evening at Sycamore Park, while 50-year-old David Breaux was fatally stabbed at Central Park on Thursday. They have arrested some people on unrelated charges or outstanding warrants but have not yet linked anyone to the murders. Davis police have deployed extra officers to patrol the areas around schools and parks

UC Davis Chancellor Gary May expressed his condolences and announced extra patrols on campus, as well as the expansion of the UC Davis Police Safe Rides Program. Davis Mayor Will Arnold said the community was devastated by the death of David Breaux, who was known for his kindness and compassion. The mayor urged the community to remain vigilant and to contact the Davis Police Department if anyone acting violent, suspicious, or matching the suspect’s description is seen.
