Former President Donald Trump has expressed his openness to selecting female running mates for the 2024 presidential election
When pressed by host Kristen Welker about leaning towards female running mates, Trump affirmed, “But I do like the concept, yes.” He noted that he hasn’t given it extensive consideration yet, emphasizing his primary goal of securing victory.
Among the potential female running mates, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem stands out, having recently endorsed Trump and joined him at a fundraising event in her home state. Trump praised her as “fantastic” and expressed interest in considering her for the role of female running mates. Additionally, former South Carolina Governor and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, who was nominated by Trump, is in the running.
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, a staunch Trump supporter, has pledged to pardon the former president if elected
Although Trump has signaled willingness to have Ramaswamy as his running mate, Ramaswamy has stated his lack of interest in the position.
Furthermore, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott’s reluctance to criticize Trump suggests he may be keeping his options open for a potential invitation to join the Trump 2024 ticket. Recent tensions between Trump and his former Vice President Mike Pence have effectively ruled out Pence as a contender for the 2024 vice-presidential nomination.
