Trump and colleagues accused of racketeering plan in Georgia election interference attempt

In a broad attempt to influence the 2020 election by undermining Joe Biden’s win in the state, a grand jury in Georgia has accused former president Donald Trump and Eighteen supporters on counts of racketeering.

Following a 2-year inquiry, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis announced the accusations on Monday night. The inquiry also alleged that Trump had teamed up to undermine the Electoral College, signed up the Justice Department to support his plot, put stress on Georgian authorities to cancel the election results, and continuously lied regarding accusations of fraud to increase pressure.

Willis also accused key participants in Trump’s attempt to influence the 2020 election, including former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, lawyers Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Sidney Powell, Jeff Clark, Ken Chesebro, and Jenna Ellis.
