According to a post on X, the platform that replaced Twitter, Fox News claimed that California Governor Gavin Newsom requested the State Assembly of California to strike former President Donald Trump’s name off presidential ballots.

This accusation is false. According to an email from the governor’s office to Check Your Fact, Newsom did not make this statement.

As per The Guardian, Trump is anticipated to be arrested for trafficking and fraud in Georgia’s Fulton County Jail. According to AP News, given the reputation of this facility for brutality and abuse, several steps of the procedure—like the booking room—might be changed for Trump.

An X post asserts Trump’s name has been requested to be taken off of future presidential ballots by Newsom to the California State Assembly. The post includes a picture of Newsom and the official seal for the California State Assembly.
