Three Teenagers Charged in Series of Armed Robberies and Carjackings Across D.C. Area June 24, 2023 by Reia Leen Delantar The Metropolitan police announced on Sunday that three teenagers have been charged in a series of armed robberies and carjackings that occurred throughout the D.C. area. (Photo: www.wkrn.com) According to law enforcement officials, a 16-year-old male juvenile and two 15-year-old male juveniles, all from Southeast, DC, were apprehended in connection with the crimes that took place on Friday, June 16. The incidents involving the teens are as follows: Armed Carjacking (Gun): Around 3:10 a.m., the suspects used their vehicle to block the victim’s vehicle in the 3400 block of B Street, Southeast. They displayed firearms and forced the victim out of their vehicle. They then fled the scene in both the victim’s and their own vehicles. Armed Robbery (Gun): At approximately 4:30 a.m., the suspects approached the victim in the 1700 block of New Jersey Avenue, Northwest. One of the suspects brandished a handgun, demanding the victim’s belongings. After seizing the victim’s property, the suspects escaped in the victim’s vehicle. Armed Carjacking (Gun): At approximately 4:35 a.m., the suspects blocked the victim’s vehicle from the front and rear at the intersection of East Capitol Street and 17th Street, Northeast. Exiting their vehicles, the suspects brandished firearms and compelled the victim to exit their vehicle. They then took the victim’s property before fleeing the scene using both the victim’s vehicle and additional suspects’ vehicles. Armed Carjacking (Gun): Around 5:55 a.m., the suspects approached the victim, who was inside their vehicle, at Montana Avenue and Bladensburg Road, Northeast. One of the suspects displayed a firearm and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied, and the suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle. Armed Carjacking (Gun): At approximately 4:45 a.m., the suspects approached the victim, who was inside their vehicle, at the intersection of C Street and 19th Street, Northeast. The suspects brandished firearms, forcing the victim out of their vehicle. Subsequently, the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Armed Robbery (Gun): Around 6:15 a.m., the suspects approached the victim in the 3900 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast. They displayed firearms and demanded money from the victim, who complied. The suspects then absconded with the money. Attempt to Commit Robbery While Armed (Gun): At approximately 6:35 a.m., the suspects approached the victim in the 1900 block of Fenwick Street, Northeast. Exhibiting firearms, they rummaged through the victim’s pockets in an attempt to steal property. When they failed to acquire any items, they fled the scene. Armed Carjacking (Gun): Around 6:41 a.m., the suspects’ vehicle approached the victim, who was inside their vehicle, at the intersection of 4th Street and Morse Street, Northeast. Exiting their vehicle, the suspects brandished firearms and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied, and the suspects escaped with both the victim’s vehicle and their own. Attempted Armed Carjacking (Gun): At approximately 6:45 a.m., the suspects approached the victim, who was inside their vehicle, in the 1300 block of Okie Street, Northeast. Brandishing firearms, they demanded the victim’s vehicle. However, the victim managed to flee the scene in their own vehicle. Armed Robbery (Gun): At approximately 6:49 a.m., the suspects approached the victim in the 3900 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast. They exhibited firearms and demanded money from the victim, who complied. The suspects took the money and fled. The police have confirmed that these cases are currently under investigation.
