Law enforcement officials reported that the shooting took place during a “large gathering” in the parking lot, but the purpose of the gathering remains unclear
However, Mayor Quinton Lucas expressed his belief that the location may have been operating as an unlicensed club, allowing the sale of alcohol without proper security measures in place. He emphasized that such businesses should face consequences, including closure if they knowingly operate in violation of the law and contribute to a dangerous environment.
As of Sunday night, the authorities had taken an adult male into custody, who was described as a “subject of interest” in the case. However, the individual had not been officially identified, indicating that no charges had been filed against him at that time. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
