On Thursday, the Oklahoma City Dodgers revealed on social media that they would no longer be referred to as such. This was a big statement.
The team will become the Oklahoma City Baseball Club beginning with the 2024 season.
The baseball team posted comments on Facebook. They wrote:
“The Triple-A Over the following 2 years, a baseball team will go through a brand identity change while the organization creates a new, locally relevant team name. As we begin the 2024 season as the Oklahoma City Baseball Club, we are excited to celebrate our franchise’s history. The franchise’s new, official identity will be revealed before the 2025 season.
The team will continue to be the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers despite its new name. We hope to see you on Tuesday, April 2, when the Oklahoma City Baseball Club plays its first game.”
