Last November, Tom Cooper, a top-producing sales representative for Douglas Elliman, had the amazing chance to supervise the closing of a stunning $18.5 million brownstone in Greenwich Village.

A witness who works in the adjacent building, Vincent Scaldaferri, saw the incident take place.

The New York Post reported that one of Cooper’s neighbors said they spent Christmas Eve with him, and he said it was the finest Christmas Eve he could have had.

Scaldaferri told the newspaper that what he had seen had severely unsettled him.

With great sadness, he said, “It’s been extremely devastating… truly awful to witness somebody’s terrible fall and the passing of a life like that.”

Cooper reportedly left a suicide note, according to the responding police.
