The dog owner of the Pit Bull killed during the dog owners confrontation in Central Park said the attacker of his dog also tried to stab him.
Brian Cornwell said the rival dog owner threatened him during the confrontation when all he was trying to do was to ensure the safety of his pets
The 52-year-old dog owner with his wife was walking his dogs, Sadie, a miniature pinscher, and Eli, a pit bull German Shepherd mix, and the stabber’s pit bulls snapped at his pinscher dog at 8:30 evening on Saturday.
The confrontation led to an argument, and the pit bull’s dog owner plunged a switchblade into Eli, killing the dog of Brian Cornwell.
Brian Cornwell, Eli’s dog owner, said the attacker tried to hit him while he was getting his dogs off his dog. All of a sudden, the attacker’s dogs are all tangled in Cornwell’s dog’s collar. Brian Cornwell kicked the attacker’s dog off a few times, and the attacker ran right back.
Brian Cornwell, Eli’s dog owner, said the attacker was as unyielding as his dogs
Brian Cornwell said the attacker threatened him that he was not from this neighborhood, and he was trying to protect his dog, and the attacker tried to stab him, too. He unloaded a whole can of pepper spray on the attacker, but it didn’t affect him.
After the stabbing, an angry dog owner followed his dog killer, recording him on his cell phone and cursing him.
The dog owner carried his 17-year-old pit bull into the police car. He hopes the park community helps police catch the dog killer.
