Many federal student loan debtors will begin receiving letters from their service providers on Monday with the headline “Your educational loans were forgiven.”
The announcements are part of the Biden administration’s earlier stated attempts to forgive debt for 804,000 borrowers who are eligible for relief through their repayment programs but are still waiting for it due to what officials have referred to as administrative mistakes.
Based on a copy of the message of confirmation to debtors that ABC News has recently received, the emails were planned to start being sent out on Monday.
The Department of Education claimed that it had erased the debt of over 200 thousand persons by the end of the day on Monday. It is anticipated that 800,000+ borrowers will be informed of some assistance in the upcoming weeks.
