The Texas Center for the Missing, a nonprofit organization based in Houston that specializes in missing person cases, confirmed the news through a tweet shared on Saturday. While the organization did not disclose specific details about Texas teen Farias’ condition, it did state that he had been admitted to a hospital and was in the process of recovering.
“After 8 long years, Texas teen Rudy has been found safe. Please continue to keep his family in your prayers while Texas teen Rudy recovers in the hospital,”. The Texas Center for the Missing had previously utilized social media to raise awareness about Texas teen Farias’ disappearance, posting a digital flyer in mid-June urging the public to help #BringHimHome.
Tim Miller, an officer with the Houston Police Department‘s missing persons division and the founder of Texas EquuSearch, a nonprofit search and recovery organization, confirmed Texas teen Farias’ alive status in an interview with KHOU, the local CBS affiliate.
Texas teen Farias’ aunt also spoke to the station, revealing that his mother was emotionally overwhelmed by her son’s return and planned to release a public statement soon
