The FBI allegedly breached the First Amendment rights of some news organizations on the internet by putting them on a “blacklist” for censorship, according to a joint lawsuit submitted by the Texas Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and co-plaintiff news organizations The Federalist and The Daily Wire towards the U.S. Department of State.
“By supplying censorship technology and secure censorship enterprises, the Global Engagement Center (GEC), an office inside the State Department, has served to restrict the influence and commercial viability of local news organizations,” based on the OAG’s report on the lawsuit, which was submitted in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
