A Texas family is determined to fight for the custody of their 6-month-old granddaughter following the death of their daughter named Yaima Verjes at the hands of her 20-year-old boyfriend, Abel Sosa, inside their home.

According to reports, the Texas family originally learned that their daughter died while playing with a gun, but nine days after the shooting incident, authorities arrested her boyfriend for fatally shooting her.

Following the death of their daughter, the Texas family wanted to have custody of their granddaughter named Emma, who was left alone living with the murderer’s mother at the same home where their daughter was murdered.

Texas Family Mourns the Tragic Death of Their Daughter After Years of Abusive Relationship

The Texas family mourned the tragic death of their daughter, who lived in an abusive relationship for several years before her boyfriend murdered her, ABC13 reported.

During the investigation, the Texas family claimed that they repeatedly reported the guns and drugs found inside their home, allegedly owned by the suspect; however, the community staff never took action against their concerns.

The suspect in the murder of the Texas family’s daughter is currently held in prison with a $500,000 bond.
