A teenager was killed by gunfire during an after-prom party in Houston
The police were called to a home at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday after reports of a shooting. Isaac Zetino, a 16-year-old who was attending the party, was found dead on the scene.
The sheriff’s office reported that Zetino was not a resident of the home but was attending the after-prom party. A disturbance broke out between Zetino and another underage male and the father of a girl who was also attending the party. Both parties had guns and fired at each other, resulting in Zetino being shot.
The police located the father who had fired shots at the teenagers and obtained a statement from him
The man claimed he acted in self-defense, and this was corroborated by evidence at the scene. The police have not released the name of the father involved.
The case is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time. The tragic incident is a reminder of the potential dangers of unsupervised parties with underage drinking and weapons. Parents are urged to monitor their children’s activities and ensure their safety.
