Suspects for the brutal killing of Daryl Lee are facing multiple charges: “A road trip to Maryland with a dead body in the passenger seat”

According to WTAJ, WJAC-6, and CBS News, Justin Green, 41, and Brooke Pullin, 30, both of Johnstown, are presently in custody on accusations that include tampering with physical evidence and abusing a corpse. Green has also been charged with criminal murder.

On the morning of July 14, the body of Daryl Vincent Lee, 44, also of Johnstown, was found by Route 403 in East Wheatfield Township. A multicolored hair was discovered on Daryl Lee’s collar area during an autopsy, which revealed that his death was a homicide from a single gunshot wound.

Following their inquiry, troopers soon found Green. According to a criminal complaint acquired by WTAJ, Justin Green and Daryl Lee worked together on three landscaping projects on July 13.

Green’s original testimony to state police was that he drove Daryl Lee to his house in the late afternoon after their workday was finished. However, according to its release, troopers were certain that Green and girlfriend Pullin were responsible for Daryl Lee’s death after reviewing physical evidence and local security footage.

Troopers reported in court documents acquired by WTAJ that Pullin, who has multicolored hair, told authorities that when Green arrived home after work on July 13, they went on a road trip and returned later that evening.

During a check of Green’s Toyota Tundra pickup truck, officers discovered two shotgun shells in the center console, as well as multiple multicolored hairs and blood within, according to the complaint, as reported by WTAJ.

According to the complaint acquired by WTAJ, Green, and Pullin were arrested by Johnstown police on Tuesday with a Visa card in their hands carrying the name “Daryl Lee.”

According to the complaint, Green later told police that he drove Daryl Lee across town in his vehicle to collect money from a landscaping customer, and then fatally shot David Lee while driving with a 12-gauge shotgun he bought at a yard sale.

Green then allegedly stated that he covered Daryl Lee’s body with a shirt and other tools before coming home to pick up Pullin and their child for a road trip to Maryland, according to WTAJ. He also allegedly stated Pullin had no awareness of the body being in the vehicle at the time, which remained in the passenger seat.

Green and Pullin were arraigned on Wednesday and sent to the Cambria County Prison, according to WTAJ. Green was denied bond, but Pullin was granted $150,000 bail.

Green is charged with criminal homicide for the killing of Daryl Lee, robbery, tampering with physical evidence, providing fake identification to law authorities, and receiving stolen property, according to WTAJ. According to the site, Pullin is accused of tampering with physical evidence, abuse of a corpse, receiving stolen property, and providing fake identification to law police. It’s unclear if they’ve hired an attorney to represent them.

Police shared photographs of a Toyota Tundra truck that they suspect was used to transfer the body. Greenfield believes the truck may have also driven to Maryland on July 13-14.

It has body panels in shades of blue and gray, a white tailgate, a winch, light bars, and a black toolbox in the bed. It bore the Virginia license plate No. VJU4921.

If you recently observed the truck or have security footage of it, call the police immediately. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the state police at the Indiana station at 724-357-1960.

Cambria County Children and Youth Services gained care of the child following their arrests.
