A man said he has been fighting a losing fight as an unidentified man drives around with his stolen license plate, racking up nearly $1,500 in citation fines.

When the owner of the stolen license plate got his first violation ticket, he mailed the police saying his plate was stolen

“I feel like this Stolen License Plate crime should be punished. If they find the perpetrator of the Stolen License Plate, they should be charged with identity theft,” said the Stolen License Plate owner.

The owner of the Stolen License Plate first discovered that the front plate of his BMW SUV was missing last June and filed a Stolen License Plate police report.

The vehicle with Stolen License Plate was parked right in front of his building near Wolcott Avenue. Soon after, he started getting violation tickets in the mail.

“I still have to pay all the violation fees,” the stolen license plate owner said. “It’s crazy and frustrating!”

The owner of the stolen license plate was hit with 23 traffic violations. The driver with a stolen license plate is captured on video committing multiple traffic violations a day.

Clearly, the car types are not matching on the stolen license plate, so it should raise a question, but instead, traffic enforcers question it and mail it out.
