The St. Paul Police Department responded to a distress call shortly after 10:30 p.m., rushing to a residence located on the 1000 block of Charles Avenue.
A tragic incident unfolded in St. Paul’s Frogtown neighborhood on Saturday night as a man lost his life in a stabbing
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite the prompt arrival of medical personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The police have taken a suspect into custody and have indicated that the assailant and the victim might have been acquainted.
According to SPPD Sgt. Mike Ernster, there is currently no reason to believe that the general public is in any danger following the incident
However, the event marks the 16th homicide in St. Paul this year, highlighting the pressing need for continued efforts to address violence in the community.
At present, law enforcement has refrained from releasing the identities of both the victim and the suspect. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, as authorities work diligently to gather evidence and establish a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding this distressing crime.
