Shelter in place in the vicinity of the Colorado Springs airport resulted in 1 arrest

A neighborhood south of the Colorado Springs Airport was placed under a shelter-in-place order on Sunday afternoon, leading to the subsequent arrest of a suspect.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office received a menacing call in that area, prompting a response from their tactical support group.

The address is located on Villager Drive at the 4400 block.

After 5 p.m., authorities requested residents remain indoors while addressing the situation. Additionally, they advised everyone to steer clear of the area during their ongoing operations.

According to deputies, there was a man inside a house and they had a team that made intermittent contact around 6:30 p.m.

Shortly after 8:15 p.m., the suspect was being held by the sheriff’s office. Yet, whether or not the accused was hurt has not been established.
