While assaulting the U.S. Capitol on Thursday, an Oath Keepers member that was a part of Roger Stone’s long-lasting safety team for former President Trump was convicted to over 4 years in jail.
6 Oath Keepers, including Roberto Minuta, were found guilty by a jury of intolerant conspiracy for what the prosecution claimed was a violent scheme to prevent the transition of authority from Trump to Joe Biden following the 2020 election. Roberto Minuta was captured on camera protecting Stone hours before the violence on January 6, 2021.
As the single most extreme accusation the Justice Department filed in connection with the Capitol revolt, Minuta is the 3rd Oath Keeper to undergo imprisonment for intolerant conspiracy.
Stewart Rhodes, the founder of Oath Keepers, received the biggest sentence yet in the dozens of charges involving the Capitol riots when he was given an 18-year prison term this past week. Kelly Meggs, the organization’s Florida chapter leader, received a 12-year term.
