PROVIDENCE, RI. (TCD) — A 32-year-old man was apprehended after reportedly breaking into residences and stealing sex toys to regift as a birthday present.
According to court documents, Benjamin Nadrowski is charged with two counts of entering a building with felonious intent and two counts of attempted breaking and entering. Between May 27 and June 3, the reported incidents occurred.
According to a police record obtained by WPRI-TV, on June 2, Providence Police were dispatched to a property on Power Street after a man reported seeing a suspect outside his house attempting to enter through the bathroom window. The man allegedly challenged the culprit, later identified as Nadrowski, who fled in a white Kia. Later that night, the neighbor noticed an identical vehicle on a nearby street.
Nadrowski was reportedly found sifting through a dumpster with a flashlight when police approached him and asked him about the incident on Power Street. Nadrowski allegedly stated that he was “attempting to buy weed” but went to the wrong house.
Similar breaking and entering events were reported by Providence Police that week. Nadrowski allegedly told police that he went into a home on Armstrong Street on May 27 and stole a sex item from someone’s bedroom. He then allegedly admitted to stealing two others from a house on Furnace Street. Later, he attempted to steal a makeup kit from a home on Waterman Avenue but was apprehended and dropped it.
According to WPRI, Nadrowski merely stole the sex toys because he wanted to give them as a birthday present.
He posted bond on June 6 and is scheduled to appear in court again in September.
