Rappers and Black Men Helping Trump Are Called Out by Al Sharpton: “He Bought Out Ads in Newspapers Asking For Black Men to Get the Death Penalty”

Rappers who back the former president Donald Trump are being criticized by Rev. Al Sharpton. Considering his past with the Central Park Five, Sharpton asked how Black individuals, even rappers, might agree with Trump throughout an appearance on MSNBC.

In 1989, following a horrific rape and assault of a female jogger in New York City, Trump, who was then a well-known businessman in the city, placed multiple full-page newspaper advertisements urging city officials to reintroduce the death sentence. Before the attacker was apprehended, Yusef Salaam, Korey Wise, Antron McCray, Raymond Santana, and Kevin Richardson were all unlawfully imprisoned for a period of 7 to 13 years.

They had been forced into making fraudulent confessions in exchange for expensive payouts. All of them are currently engaged in criminal justice activism. Trump never offered an apology to the 5, particularly considering that he ran the commercials before the start of their trials.
