The color of the street lights in Central Texas has switched from white to purple due to an issue with the LED light fixture.

Charlese Butler, a public relations expert for the City of Temple, explained that they initially appear white before progressively turning deeper violet and dim.

She claimed that last week, the city had checked the local street lights and discovered that 11 of them were now purple.

In the area of S General Bruce Dr., along W Adams Ave. and US 190 Frontage Rd., drivers may notice purple street lights.

Yet, Central Texas is covered in purple lights. According to TxDOT, this LED light fault is now affecting 48 lights in the Waco District, which covers the counties of Hill, Bosque, McLennan, Limestone, Hamilton, Coryell, Bell, and Falls.
