Police said a 12-year-old in the Dallas area killed a Sonic worker with an AR-style pistol

A 12-year-old child has been charged with shooting and killing a fast-food worker who was disagreeing with a different man at a drive-in cafe in Texas while carrying an AR-style pistol, according to authorities.

Matthew Davis, 32, was shot and killed on May 13 at a Sonic in Keene, which is located around 40 miles southwest of downtown Dallas.

The 20-year-old Angel Gomez was harassed by Davis, who worked at Sonic, for “feeling disrespectful in the parking area” at around 9:40 p.m., stated to the Keene Police Department.

After a violent altercation, the youngster shot Davis several times from the passenger seat of Gomez’s car, according to authorities. According to Police Chief James Kidd, the alleged shooter is thought to be a 12-year-old child, USA TODAY reported on Tuesday.

It was clarified by Kidd that the fired weapon “seems to be an AR-style.22 rifle,” according to earlier accounts. He claimed that the guy was hit by at least 6 gunshots.
