Two U.S. officials stated based on anonymity to talk about a decision that still needs to be made that the Pentagon has issued “get ready to deploy” instructions to around 2,000 U.S. troops so they are prepared to react to the Israel-Hamas war.
According to one of the authorities, the troops would perform a range of support functions, including enhanced medical support and firearms support, such as boosting protection at gate crossings.
One of the executives indicated that while they wouldn’t be transferred to Israel, they might be sent to other nations in the area. The directives were initially reported by The Wall Street Journal.
