As reported by 2 defense officials, the Pentagon advised Nevada’s Nellis Air Force site that an already allowed drag show scheduled to be held on the site on the 1st day of Pride Month might not go forward since it did not follow Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s current remarks.

The drag show, which had been allowed by base commanders in the 2 years prior, was scheduled to take place at the Officer’s Club at Nellis Air Force Base in southern Nevada on Thursday, June 1.

Based on the individual who talked to ABC News, base legal officials and commanders had decided that the occurrence was in keeping with DOD policy and therefore no branch money was going to be utilized for it.

Normally, local commanders decide whether to host such events after consulting with military lawyers. However, earlier this week, the Defense Department informed Nellis authorities that Thursday’s occasion was in conflict with Austin’s most recent remarks to Congress and that it needed to be dismissed or moved off base, a defense authority stated ABC News.
