Parents report a suspect in a Louisiana kid’s attempted murder to law police after the teen escaped custody

After his brief escape, the parents of a teenage boy in Louisiana who is accused of attempting murder turned him in to the police, authorities said on Sunday.

The 17-year-old Kimmy Dauntain Jr. broke free from the Office of Juvenile Justice’s custody on Friday afternoon when being led to a funeral, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

According to Fox 8, the teenager was being jailed on multiple accusations, involving accessory after the fact, simple violence, intended first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and unlawful possession of a pistol by a minor.

The escape was announced at the same time as other prisoners had just escaped from detention and experienced a brief taste of freedom.
