After his brief escape, the parents of a teenage boy in Louisiana who is accused of attempting murder turned him in to the police, authorities said on Sunday.
The 17-year-old Kimmy Dauntain Jr. broke free from the Office of Juvenile Justice’s custody on Friday afternoon when being led to a funeral, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
According to Fox 8, the teenager was being jailed on multiple accusations, involving accessory after the fact, simple violence, intended first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and unlawful possession of a pistol by a minor.
The escape was announced at the same time as other prisoners had just escaped from detention and experienced a brief taste of freedom.
