Off the coast of Alaska, a charter boat collapsed with one person killed and four more missing

After a high-end charter fishing boat collapsed off the coast of Alaska, the Coast Guard is looking for 4 missing individuals.

The Coast Guard said that one dead person was discovered by rescuers near the partially sinking sailboat near a tiny island near Sitka, Alaska.

The unidentified vessel was reported to the Coast Guard on Sunday night by Sitka-based Kingfisher Charters, which organizes complete fishing adventures. As per the Coast Guard, the ship was recently observed on Sunday afternoon close to Kruzof Island, which is a tiny, stony island that is less than 10 miles away from the spot on which the ship was discovered.

Indicating numerous “unknowns” engaged in the hunt, Coast Guard Commanding Duty Officer Trevor Layman stated, “We’re moving rapidly to find the unaccounted-for people.”

As per the business website, Kingfisher Charters provides all-inclusive fish programs and leads guided outings on 30-foot motor boats that can accommodate up to 6 fishermen each.
