Troomer faces charges of aggravated kidnapping, avoiding arrest, unauthorized possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possessing a firearm while committing a violent offense.
Unicoi County is holding him on a $50,000 bail, and the Winston-Salem Police Department anticipates charging him as well. Troomer has a lengthy criminal history, with 14 convictions in South Carolina.
