The NYPD Crime Stoppers Twitter account described the suspect as a male with a late-model Toyota minivan. The man approached the woman as she crossed the street. He picked her up and carried her to his van before driving off Stillwell Avenue. The victim was described as a woman in her 20s, wearing a striped shirt, blue skirt, and white sneakers. The police released photos showing the suspect waving his arms to the woman on the street and carrying her to his car.
The New York Police Department has not yet commented on the incident, and whether the victim knew the suspect is unclear. Police are currently reviewing videos in the area to determine where the man and woman came from before the incident.
The kidnapper is believed to be a male in his 30s, standing at 5-foot-10-inches tall and weighing 175 pounds
He was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, dark pants, and black shoes during the incident. Police are offering a reward of $3,500 to anyone who can provide information that could lead to an arrest. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
