Jessica, the 42-year-old mother of a Nebraska woman, faces sentencing on September 22, 2023

Celeste Burgess, an 18-year-old Nebraska woman, was sentenced to 90 days imprisonment and two years of probation for being guilty of illegal abortion after burning and burying a fetus last Thursday. The Nebraska woman successfully aborted her fetus with the help of her mother.

Jessica, the mother of an 18-year-old Nebraska woman, pleaded guilty to concealing or abandoning the fetus of her child.

The Court finds that while probation is appropriate for an 18-year-old Nebraska woman, imprisonment is necessary because, without this imprisonment, it would belittle the gravity of the crime committed or promote impertinence to the law.

An 18-year-old Nebraska woman and her mother violated Nebraska law

An 18-year-old Nebraska woman and her mother are accused of helping each other to end the early pregnancy. The abortion, well into a Nebraska woman’s third trimester, violated state law at the time that made abortion illegal after 20 weeks of gestation.

Police said Jessica Burgess ordered abortion pills online shop, which she gave to her then-17-year-old Nebraska woman’s daughter last 2022.

Police found the burned fetal remains of the fetus of a Nebraska woman buried in a field north of Norfolk.
