Mujera Benjamin Lung’aho Pleads Guilty in Connection with Firebombings After George Floyd’s Murder

North Little Rock resident and community activist, Mujera Benjamin Lung’aho, 33, has entered a guilty plea in federal court for his involvement in the arson attacks on police vehicles subsequent to the 2020 killing of George Floyd

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has reported that Mujera Benjamin Lung’aho pleaded guilty to a singular charge of deliberately setting a vehicle ablaze. This plea signifies the conclusion of an investigation triggered by Floyd’s death. The presiding Chief U.S. District Judge D. Price Marshall Jr. has revealed that Mujera Benjamin Lung’aho’s sentencing will take place post a comprehensive review conducted by a presentence investigation team, a procedure typically spanning up to 90 days. If convicted, Mujera Benjamin Lung’aho could potentially face a prison term ranging from five to 20 years.

Initially indicted on October 6, 2020, Mujera Benjamin Lung’aho faced charges of conspiracy, malicious use of explosives, and employing an incendiary device during acts of civil unrest.

Which culminated in the bombing of police vehicles linked to Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Arkansas State police. Subsequently, a superseding indictment emerged on February 3, 2021, amalgamating his case with those of Brittany Jeffrey, Emily Nowlin, Aline Espinosa-Villegas, and Renea Goddard. This led to the introduction of 13 fresh charges, with four being later dismissed by Marshall.

While Mujera Benjamin Lung’aho’s accomplices have already reached plea agreements, Mujera Benjamin Lung’aho’s sentencing outcome remains pending. Jeffrey, one of the co-defendants, was sentenced in December to a period equivalent to time served and 18 months of supervised release. The situation concerning the other defendants remains uncertain at this time.
