In the aftermath of the tragic mass shootings that rocked Lewiston, Maine, all 18 victims have been officially identified by the Maine State Police.
Maine Public Safety Commissioner Mike Sauschuck paid tribute to the fallen, meticulously reciting each victim’s name and calling for a moment of reflection
The victims, spanning ages from 14 to 76, were remembered in a heartfelt display of solidarity. In deference to the wishes of grieving family members, Mike Sauschuck refrained from disclosing the victims’ specific hometowns.
While offering a glimmer of relief by lifting shelter-in-place orders, Mike Sauschuck also urged the community to remain vigilant as the hunt for the suspect unfolds. He underscored the necessity of distinguishing between hunting-related gunshots and potential threats, announcing a temporary prohibition on hunting in Lewiston, Lisbon, Bowdoin, and Monmouth, while permitting it elsewhere.

The search for the suspect concentrated on the Androscoggin River, where the perpetrator’s abandoned vehicle was discovered near a boat launch following the shootings. The pursuit continues, with an expanded presence of dive teams from both in and out of the state expected to comb the river on Saturday. The community remains on edge, uniting in their determination to bring the responsible party to justice.
