According to reports in Miami, Hill is accused of hitting an employee during a “disagreement” that occurred on Sunday.
Miami-Dade County Police Department is currently investigating Tyreek Hill, the wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, regarding allegations of assault or battery at a marina in Miami Beach
While sports radio host Andy Slater claimed that Hill slapped the employee on the back of the head, no charges have been filed by the employee. The Dolphins issued a statement through a spokesperson acknowledging the situation and confirming their contact with Hill, his representatives, and the NFL. They declined to provide further comments at this time. It remains uncertain whether Hill will face criminal charges related to the incident.
At 29 years old, Hill is entering his second season with the Miami Dolphins after spending his initial six NFL seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2022, he had a remarkable season, with 119 receptions for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns, earning him a spot in the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro First Team. Hill, a Georgia native, was traded to Miami in March last year.
Earlier this year, during an appearance on Sports Radio 810 WHB, Hill spoke about the Dolphins’ upcoming game against his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs
He expressed his intentions to be a formidable opponent, stating, “I’m gonna be y’all’s worst enemy that day.” Hill had a successful tenure with the Chiefs, earning six Pro Bowl selections, three appearances in the All-Pro First Team, and winning Super Bowl LIV in the 2019 season.
Despite playing in the latter half of the 2010s, Hill’s contributions as a wide receiver led to his inclusion in the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. The investigation into the assault allegations adds an unfortunate development to Hill’s career, and further details regarding potential charges are awaited.
