The Menasha Police Department is extending an open invitation to residents, urging them to participate in their innovative camera surveillance network

The brainchild of one of the Menasha Police Department‘s officers, this novel approach seeks to unite disparate private surveillance cameras, effectively expanding the eyes and ears available to law enforcement during incidents. The prime example of community involvement, John and Christy Din, have already embraced the concept by outfitting their residence with three cameras offering comprehensive coverage.

Christy Din voiced her commitment to neighborhood safety, emphasizing that these cameras not only protect their home but also contribute to the welfare of their neighbors. Reflecting this collective spirit, the Menasha Police Department has established the Community Camera Program, embracing a network of privately-owned surveillance and doorbell cameras, thoughtfully extended from homes and businesses.

Officer Dan Hoernke of the Menasha Police Department elucidated that homeowners voluntarily share their camera information with the department

This cooperative effort has already yielded promising results, aiding in identifying suspects and locating missing individuals. The Dins proudly offered their camera system to support Menasha Police Department law enforcement efforts, reinforcing the notion that a united community can bolster overall safety.

Residents keen on joining this initiative can reach out to the Menasha Police Department, which currently boasts 150 interconnected camera systems. The Menasha Police Department’s vision is to see this number triple in the coming months, promoting a safer, more interconnected Menasha.
