Retired McDonald’s corporate chef Mike Haracz states in a TikTok video, “If you’re looking for the chicken nugget taste from home, that is maybe a bit cheaper, try searching for Pilgrim’s brand tempura chicken nuggets.”
So there you’ve got it, folks: search for the Pilgrim’s brand if you’re looking for something that tastes just as wonderful as a Chicken McNugget but can be made in your own home. It’s true, as Haracz claims, that Walmart sells imitation chicken nuggets, but it’s important to understand what to search for.
Haracz uses the term for the Tempura-Style Chicken Breast Nuggets produced by Pilgrim’s Pride, which is part of the bigger Pilgrim’s business. These chicken nuggets appear to be sold at H-E-B stores, Kroger, and Fred Meyer stores, as well as those owned by Kroger.
